Romania Travel Impressions Technical Museum Bucharest July 2012 by Dan Dimancescu

A hidden surprise was a visit I made to the Technical Museum of Bucharest tucked to one side of a tree shaded boulevard in the expansive Carol Park. Romania’s industrial history (machinery, transport, oil) and imported technological items are on display. Unusual in appearance is a Romanian air-streamed car vintage 1923. A 1901 Oldsmobile (below) is nearby as is a rare Duesenberg 1930 sports model. Shaped salt blocks reflect the country’s enormous subterranean richness in salt mined for several millennia.
