Turnu-Severin, a portion of Trajan’s bridge across the Danube (103AD) has been replicated in full size three years ago. The bridge section stands in a circular pool of water with dramatic lighting enhancing the intricate structural woodwork. From the air, a remaining bridge abuttment and ruins of the Roman military camp can be seen. Photos © Dan Dimancescu (iPhone camera) |
