Renault Technologie Roumanie (RTR) opened on September 15 its technical center in Titu, according to Jerome Olive, general manager of Automobile Dacia.
The first tests will take place in October 2010, after which around half of the testing lines will be developed and finalized next year in summer. The total investment in the Titu testing center is of EUR 100 million, out of which EUR 70 million will be alloted this year. Construction works on the project started in 2008, with a first deadline for completion set for end of 2009. The Titu center will include 100 testing platforms for entire cars and components. It also includes 30 kilometers of track for speed tests and 80,000 sqm of buildings, all on 330 hectares of land, which used to host an air base.

Renault-Dacia operations in 2010 account for 10% of all Romanian exports.
