What do these maps tell us about Romania? The economy is healthy: positive growth rates (6-7% / year) which are enviable; inflation issues fueled by rapid economic development pressures common to ‘ex-Communist’ EU-nations; and a labor shortage problem (this is particularly visible in the construction industry that cannot find skilled workers many of whom have sought jobs in West Europe) rather than serious unemployment concerns in France, Germany and Poland.
