She was raised in “old” Romania and graduated from the University of Cluj with a mathematics degree in June 1990. After one year of teaching mathematics in the Informatics High School in Cluj, she moved to Boston with her husband and their one year old daughter.
She worked in financial services for seven years, after which she attended the MBA program at MIT Sloan School of Management. She graduated with her MBA degree (specializing in “strategy consulting”) in June 2001 and worked for one year at Accenture, one of world’s largest consulting firms.
In the summer of 2002, Mrs. Moisescu founded a non-profit rhythmic gymnastics program, Rhythmic Dreams to offer her daughter Ada, a budding rhythmic gymnastics talent, the best training conditions possible. The rhythmic program took off and soon it became one of the largest in the country, counting today more than 130 students in over 20 different classes and programs.
Mrs. Moisescu is also the founder of the first international rhythmic gymnastics competition on the US East Coast,
Boston Cup (www.bostoncup.com). In it’s seventh edition in 2009, Boston Cup hosted elite athletes from more than 20 countries in the past.
Rhythmic Dreams’s summer camp program is unique in the world, offering international athletes seven weeks of elite-level training in Newton, MA. The program has hosted athletes from three different continents, many of them returning year after year.
Moisescu’s last project is a Romanian extracuricullar program for children of Romanian origin in the greater Boston Area, named “Castelul Copiilor” (Children’s Castle). The program offers a variety of classes in Romanian language, and is aimed at fostering in children the love for the Romanian language and culture. Mrs. Moisescu lives in Newton MA with her husband Marius and children Ada and Victor.
