While many deserving old buildings have been wantonly destroyed, some are surviving. In Bucharest’s Lipscani District next to the historic Hanul Manuc, one building survives only as exterior walls to become a highly modern facility in the interior. In the interim, a complex steel frame keeps the walls intact.
