|LIPSCANI, BUCHAREST / May 2013.
In less than 3 years, the Lipscani 'old town' district of Bucharest has come alive beyond people's expectations. Streets are crowded with outdoor bars, restaurants, clubs. Streets are repaired. Theatres are busy. Art-work runs the gamut of graffiti to wall paintings. Building facades are increasingly restored. In all, the Lipscani has become "the place to be" and in some ways harks back to a left-bank Paris lifestyle of the early 1960s. / Photos © Dan Dimancescu
